Giving Back in Rabat: A Conversation with Future Business Leaders

On Thursday, October 9, 2025, I had the pleasure of speaking with BBA students at HEM – Business & Engineering School in Rabat. As part of the LCI Group and with more than 30 years of academic excellence, HEM continues to shape some of Morocco’s most promising young minds. Engaging with these students was both energising and refreshing.

Why Giving Back Matters

Since being based in Rabat, I’ve made it a personal commitment to contribute to the local community in meaningful ways. Wherever I go, I believe in giving back—sharing knowledge, opening doors, and offering insights drawn from both successes and the many projects I started… and eventually ditched 😅.

During the session, I walked students through parts of my entrepreneurial journey: the trial-and-error, the discomfort of starting, the lessons that come from failure, and the importance of staying connected to a purpose that is bigger than yourself. We discussed what it means to read challenges early, translate them into opportunities, and remain relevant—not only for your career but for society as a whole.

A Room Filled with Curiosity and Ambition

What struck me most was the energy in the room. These young students—driven, curious, bold—are preparing to become the next generation of business leaders in Morocco and the wider region. Their thoughtful questions and eagerness to explore new ideas reminded me of the potential we hold when education and ambition intersect.

Gratitude and Looking Ahead

My sincere thanks go to HEM for the warm welcome and to Rim Raoudi for the kind invitation and excellent facilitation. Conversations like these reaffirm why mentorship, community engagement, and intergenerational dialogue matter.

Here’s to building bridges, sharing experiences, and continuing to grow together. 🚀
